Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

At Bugbear Bikes, your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the personal information you provide when interacting with our website, products, and services.

Information We Collect

  • Personal Information: such as your name, email address, phone number, and postal address when you make inquiries, book a test ride, or subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Usage Data: including pages visited, browser type, and time spent on the site, collected via cookies and analytics tools.
  • Transaction Data: if you purchase products or services, we may collect billing and payment information.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

  • Provide and improve our bikes, services, and support.
  • Communicate with you about bookings, promotions, and updates.
  • Process transactions securely.
  • Ensure the safety and reliability of our website.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with trusted third parties who help us operate our business (e.g., payment processors, email providers), but only to the extent necessary to provide services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

Mobile phone numbers and text-message consent are treated more strictly than the above — see Text Messages (SMS) below.

Text Messages (SMS)

If you ask us to, we will text you about your bike — when your estimate is ready to approve, when your repair is finished, when a payment is due, and to remind you about a scheduled drop-off. You choose this on your account page or by telling us in the shop, and you can change it or turn it off whenever you like — see Text updates to sign up, and our Text Message Terms for the full terms.

  • We do not share your mobile number. No mobile information — your phone number, your opt-in to receive texts, or your consent — is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and it is never sold. The only disclosure we make is to the messaging provider that delivers the messages on our behalf (Twilio), which may not use it for any other purpose.
  • Message frequency varies. These messages are about work you have asked us to do, so they arrive only when something happens with your bike — typically a handful of messages per repair visit, and none at all between visits. We do not send recurring marketing texts.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving text messages, depending on your plan. We have no control over those charges.
  • Agreeing is optional. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase or of any service. You can decline, or change your mind later, with no effect on the work we do for you.
  • Stopping and getting help. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us; reply HELP for help. You can also turn texts off on your account page, or call the shop and ask. Opting out of texts does not affect your repair — we will reach you another way.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your Choices

You have the right to:

  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • Request access to or deletion of your personal data.
  • Adjust cookie preferences in your browser settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
